Generating Immediate Revenue for Nonprofits

Have you been thinking about starting a social enterprise? Join us for a workshop on creating earned income opportunities. The hands-on program will provide a series of real-life examples, simple exercises, along with discussion, dialogue and debate. You will be able to inventory your organization's strengths and assets as building blocks to identifying short-term earned income opportunities and long-term business strategies to advance your mission and increase organization revenue. Participants will:
  • Discuss current nonprofit trends and the realities and impact of the economic environment.
  • Inventory their organizations' strengths and assets.
  • Identify opportunities for short-term earned income.
  • Identify opportunities for effective long-term business strategies.
  • Determine action steps to implement short- and long-term initiatives.

MissionWise is nationally known for its unique blend of training, mentoring and consulting. MissionWise, a division of Seattle-based Comprehensive Health Education Foundation, has successfully diversified its parent organization's revenue base through nontraditional resources.


Presenter Larry Clark, President and CEO of Comprehensive Health Education Foundation, led the team that founded MissionWise in 2005. He is a frequent and distinguished speaker on topics pertaining to social enterprise and entrepreneurial thinking in the nonprofit sector, and has developed unique expertise in income generation, intellectual property development and strategic partnerships.


Presenter Michael Oxman, MissionWise consultant, was one of the founding members of the MissionWise team. He has worked with a broad range of community-based agencies, coalitions and foundations in the health and human services sector.

Executive staff—just two per organization! Space limited by the design of the learning experience, and there is only room for two persons per organization, please.
